Wiser Academy

Wiser Academy was born out of a growing need for education that not only informs the mind but orders the soul. In a time when modern education often lacks moral clarity, academic rigor, and religious grounding, especially from a Latter-day Saint perspective, we saw the urgency for a better way. We envisioned a school where students could grow in wisdom, discernment, and discipleship—where learning is guided by eternal truths and infused with purpose. Wiser Academy stands as a response to the decay in culture and education, offering families a place where gospel-centered instruction meets classical excellence.

Our Mission

Wiser Academy exists to introduce students to a lifetime of discipleship and learning by instructing from the greatest sources of knowledge within the framework of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We aim to prepare future generations of Saints to know, serve, and love God by seeking out the best books of wisdom and learning—by study and also by faith (Doctrine and Covenants 88:118).

Our Vision

Modeled after the schools of the ancient wise men and prophets, Wiser Academy seeks to train shepherd-scholars who lead others to Christ through proper reasoning, the discernment of truth from error, the cultivation of virtue, and the faithful employment of knowledge in charity. It is our hope that our research, instruction, and devotion to Jesus Christ will guide young Saints toward true wisdom and the peace that “passeth all understanding” (Philippians 4:7).

Our Headmaster

Tennyson Denna founded Wiser Academy after years of searching for what modern education had lost and hearing a quiet, persistent call to build something better. Though he explored careers in medicine, business, and programming, that inner voice led him to create a school grounded in timeless truth and restored gospel principles.
With a B.A. in Portuguese from Brigham Young University, Tennyson’s true education has come from reading hundreds of books on classical philosophy, theology, economics, and the great questions of civilization. He has spent years studying the history and philosophy of education, uncovering how many of today’s problems are rooted in the very foundations of modern schooling.

Tennyson believes the true purpose of education is not just to prepare for a career, but to prepare for eternity, to know God, serve Him, and become like Him.
He lives in Utah with his wife and three boys. When not building Wiser Academy, he’s doing what he loves most—studying, teaching, learning languages, and playing with his kids.
